Yes, you can VIBE your way to fit
Build strength, bone density, flexibility (and reverse many ailments)!
Y’all, fitness does not get any easier than this.
Yes, you will get benefit even using it for 10 minutes while sitting and reading! And for a true beginner or anyone with health issues? Start out just like that.
That’s the travel size in the picture like the one we have now. We had a much bigger (heavier) vibe for about 3 years until it broke (it did not have a lifetime warranty like the one we have now). I would say WE loved it but only I loved it because getting my husband on the thing, even for 10 minutes, was like pulling teeth…
Well, not now! He watched the following 3 short videos below along with the infomercial on the Amazon page (linked below) and, baby, he is ALL IN.
Proof that a little education goes a loooong way in this house.
Our Routine
We exercise 4x a week for 12 minutes total using the Tabata method. This is basically work-hard-for-20-seconds-rest-for-10-repeat routine. Scientifically proven to produce excellent results even in this incredibly short bit of a time. (There’s a link to my Tabata post and the timer I use below.)
The days of 2 hours gym workouts — unless you are seriously bodybuilding — are over. Thank goodness :) And I used to teach those intense workouts… for 17 years!
Which brings me to this VIP (Very Important Point): you can do this at any AGE, literally ANY age. My grandkids love it, lol. You’ll see these in most gyms being used by people of all ages. You’ll DEFINITELY see these in chiropractic offices because they are so beneficial for building and maintaining health. In fact, I became aware of these when my 87yo mom’s chiro put her on one. It was wonderfully helpful for mom and I was fascinated.
You can also do any TIME: 10 minutes at 30 speed is what the NASA astronauts do. You can use with different exercise (see below) but exercise is not required for benefit. You can just stand or sit on it and your body builds muscle. If you are doing anything for 10 minutes, why not do it on the vibe? Watching TV or Joe Rogan? Listening to a health and fitness podcast? Perfect activity while you watch or listen!
You can also do any WHERE: the one we have is a mini (so holds up to 260 lbs). It’s easy to carry, whether going around the world or around the house. If you have a standing desk, stand on this. Simple.
Exercises
Besides the exercises shown in the videos below, here’s what we do (pictures coming, I promise):
Pushups
Planks
Stretches (see Dave Asprey’s video). You can do plenty of yoga poses on the vibe. Yoga is particularly valuable because you build strength AND flexibility at the same time.
Lots of squats, lunges and tons of variations with or without hand weights
Hip thrusts (feet or elbows on vibe)
Just vibing, either standing or sitting — still works all your muscles, particularly core.
The top is knobby so you’ll want to use a towel when barefoot or putting elbows, hands, butt on it.
All About Whole Body Vibration (WBV)
Dr. Dan:
4 min, I speed my videos up, this one is good at 1.5
Dave Asprey:
8 min, speed 1.5
Dr. Mike:
8 min, speed 2
What we use:
Affordable with a lifetime warranty! There are two sizes: this one for up to 260 lbs and this one for up to 330lbs. The videos on the Amazon sales page are very informative. (To speed up, right click for “show all controls”, then you get the speed option.)
Love this peanut ball (like Dave’s) For a long time, we used a great big memory foam pillow with an oblong outdoor cushion on top for the stretch like Dave does above. Something like this that we got on sale at Lowe’s. That setup worked, but we like the peanut ball better overall.
Unless you are building big muscles, this set is perfect for a strength & tone routine: 3 Pairs Dumbbells and Stand (3, 5, 8 lbs)
If you are into kettlebell movements, you can do those on the vibe, too!!! Kettlebell (we have the 10 lb size)
Give the vibe a try. If it doesn’t work for you, Amazon makes returns remarkably easy. The thing is, the vibration plate makes exercise easy, and way more productive than “regular” exercise and in much less time. With the vibe, you get fitness gains above and beyond the effort you put into it.
I urge you to give it a try. If you do, let me know how it goes, I want to hear your results!
