This is a beautiful delivery of devastating news. Sally, I'm so sorry for the loss of Hal and sending love to you and yours. Key West is (still) a better place because of you both. Love, Rhonda.

So sorry to hear about your loss. I had my battle with cancer down here in Mexico Hospital, in San José, just two years ago, and I'm still recovering. You might know that I am stuck now in paradise. Anyway, the photos and bio, all that you wrote was deeply touching, and I cannot imagine how difficult it has been for you. I pray that your joy returns soon. Much love, your friend from Alajuela, Steve

those were my thoughts exactly, when I was able to look out the windows of Mexico Hospital, in San José. I spent over 6 weeks there, and when they finally turned me out, I still had the front of my throat open. It took 4 months to finally close on it's own. I'm a product of my environment though, being raised in Kentucky, I still think about smoking, and wish I had a pipe. I wouldn't even know where to find such things down here. Ha Ha. Of course, I'm a neck-breather now, but if I ever make it back to Ky., a pipe and some borkum riff will be the first thing I look for.

Wow, that is an ordeal. I'm so sorry, cancer is a thief. Have you considered ivermectin/fenbendazole to keep it away? I know it helped Hal and I read lots of success stories. It's cheap, probably over the counter there. I take it 3-4 days a week to ward it off... I'm also addicted to nicotine gum. Nicotine is actually good for us (another big pharma lie), it's all the gov-mandated chemicals in tobacco products that cause harm. Desperately seeking an organic option but so far, can't find anything. Thinking about getting organic tobacco seeds and growing my own, making a tincture... Something else on my to do list. Sending you love and healing energy, Steven. We'll have lunch when you do make it back. Keep me posted.

Thanks for so openly sharing everything! Having lost my Laura to cancer last year, I have learned how important it is to express how important such a loss really is on your life, however difficult it is to be so open about it. I learned a lot about myself in sharing all of the wonderful times we had and the happiness she brought into my life. It really has helped me understand my life better by removing that emotional curtain and being completely honest about how much an impact it really is. I think it's impossible to understand without having had the experience. It helped me to understand that I was and am capable of having such love in my life. I have enjoyed knowing you, Hal and your kids and was sad to hear of Hal's passing. Though I did not know either if you all that well, both of you impressed me and my dearest Laura and we enjoyed the times we got to share together. You are a wonderful angel dear Sally. All the best to you and your family and if you every need someone to listen, or a shoulder to cry on...

Oh my gosh, I’m experiencing all the same things. Hal loved me so much, I was blessed by that. We felt the same about you and Laura, and always enjoyed your company, too. I saw a picture on your timeline overlooking San Jose. Awesome view, especially anytime there’s even the slightest cause for fireworks!! xoxo
