High Fat Diet Update
So far, I've lost three pounds!
I guess because I'm eating less. Duh. And I guess that's because I'm full faster, eating so much good fat! This makes perfect sense to me now.
Yes, that is me in the photo. Do you really think I would search the internet for a picture of a young flat-bellied woman getting into her skinny jeans, then pretend it's me? That would be so tacky.
Funny, now that I'm into eating good, healthy fats, when I have a meal out these days (unavoidable in my quest for $), everything looks and tastes dry. What did we do with all the fat? Even a cheeseburger in a restaurant can be a dry, flat thing sitting there between two wonder buns. If there is grease dripping out of it, I figure at least I'm getting some fats along with my protein!
When a hotel includes hard-boiled eggs with the otherwise entirely white-flour-GM-grains-sugar "Continental" breakfast, I feel like I hit the jackpot. And when those eggs are still in the shell, that is icing on the cake. Nobody had their hands on my food and it wasn't rinsed in chlorinated fluoridated water. If I find pats of real butter -- all too rare -- I'm in heaven! I carry my own real salt with me. Two crumbled up eggs with a little salt, a bunch 'o butter and crumbled bacon on top... this is a great start to my day!
Still having that one cup of coffee in the am with a little honey or maple syrup (the only sweet still in my diet), a T of unrefined coconut oil (which I carry as well) and raw cream (I drink it black on the road unless I can get real whole milk or half and half. Even if it's pasteurized, it's still got fats in it, right?) Yummy. Try it before you turn up your nose at an oil slick in your coffee. Yeah, at first it's a little weird. But I got used to it fast and now coffee is bare without it.
