Basic Shake Ingredients & Guidelines
For liquid, go with filtered water, unsweetened almond or coconut milk, or even raw milk (my personal fav).
Avoid oat milk because it’s very high in carbs and, tragically, carbs turn to sugar in your body. For now, we are keeping low carb/low glycemic.
Hard NO to pasteurized milk. It’s one of the most acidic, inflammatory foods we can drink.
I like a lot of liquid so my shakes are 16-20 ounces. Lots of people go with 8 ounces so whatever works for you!
If you like a thicker shake, add a little nut butter or 1/4 avocado. Avoid bananas because, again, pretty high carb. If you must, then 1/4 green banana will keep the sugar high at bay :)
Some of my favorite additions:
Dandy Blend — great for your liver, yummy taste
Colostrum — a superfood. I use Anovite, clean & so good. I’m a distributor since 2019. If you’d like more info, let me know.
A Tbsp of almond butter
Any powder supplements except Vitamin C (too tart) — but a protein shake is a great way to get those powdered supplements in.
Mineral drops
Dark Chocolate powder: this one is Anthony’s organic, this is King Arthur which is a great brand
The one caveat is to beware of calories. We don’t “count” calories in our programs, but just be aware that going overboard can backfire.
